Pastor Appreciation Day was October 13, 2019. We may not ever really think of taking the time to appreciate or to even say thank you to our Pastor for all he does. Some of us may not truly know all that he does behind the scenes, but I can tell you first hand all of the things that Pastor Dave does for our church. I would like to say a huge Thank you to him! I didn’t have the pleasure working for any of our other pastors, but I truly appreciate what Pastor Dave is doing for our church and the direction he wants to go. (Plus he’s the most wonderful boss I’ve every had!) – Nikki
In moments of deep concern, we come together as a province (and world) and focus our prayers on those specific needs. It has been said that prayer changes us more than it changes that for which we pray. The Unity Prayer Watch gives us the opportunity to change everything. As we pray for the people and provinces around the moravian unity, we draw closer to them even as we draw closer to God’s holy embrace.
Our turn for the Unity Prayer Watch is Sunday, December 8. There is a sign-up sheet and prayer topic sheets available on the Fellowship Hall bulletin board. Please consider giving 30 minutes for a time of prayer for the Worldwide Moravian Unity.
Do you know of anyone who may have an abundance of apples in their orchard and do not know what to do with them? Sunday School will be making apple pies for their annual pie sale to be held on November 24 and are in need of apples! Please contact Sue Trumpf at 920-723-9386, leaving a voicemail or email her at email@example.com for additional information.
Southern Wisconsin Moravians for Mission, SWMM, endorses mission motivated ministries and on Sunday, November 17th at 2pm SWMM is having an “Afternoon for Mission” at the Watertown Moravian Church located at 510 Cole St.. Pastor Kurt Liebenow led a team to Peru in August of 2019 which included Bishop Sam Gray and Justin Rabbach. The team worked to foster relationships with Moravian churches and part of the trip included visiting a village in the Amazon jungle where Moravian churches are forming. Mission trips leave lasting memories for those who hear God’s call and answer it. Invite friends to come and hear about the exciting things happening in Peru. There will be refreshments following the presentation.
CEC will be packing goodie boxes for our college students and military personnel on Thursday, Nov. 07. To make this a success, we need your help. If you have a college student or someone in the military, please provide the church office with their most current address. If you love to bake or shop, bring something to the church kitchen by 4:00pm on Wed. Nov 06 and CEC will fill the boxes during our evening meeting on Nov. 07. We know that students and military folks love nut free baked goods, gum, individually wrapped snacks, microwave popcorn and anything else that you can think of to let them know that we are thinking of them. Monetary donations are also welcomed! Thank you in advance for your help.
We are forming a choir for the Advent Vesper service Dec 1st. All choir members and anyone wishing to sing are invited to join us. Rehearsals are on Nov. 3 and Nov. 17 at 1pm. Dress Rehearsal will be on Nov. 30 at 1 pm. Fewer anthems will be sung and fewer rehearsals will be held. Please contact Kathy Wendt, 920-728-1101, for more information.
Our CEC committee is adventuring into the great unknown with the presale of a FANTASTIC tapestry! You may place your order at the church office during normal business hours of M-F 9:00-12:00 and 1:00-4:00pm. If you wish to give this as a gift, you must order it before Noon on October 31. We will continue to take orders, but they will not be here before Christmas.
This beautiful tapestry is woven in many colors with the center focal point being our Moravian seal with our motto & on each corner respectfully is the Moravian star, the candle, the Moravian man and woman (the man and woman were hand drawn by Eileen Engsberg). This tapestry may be used to decorate the back of a couch or chair, to be hung on a wall, to be used as a tablecloth, a blanket and of course will make an excellent gift! The price of this lovely tapestry is $35.00. We are accepting additional donations as the proceeds from the sales, along with the donations will benefit our Adopt A Family program. For those who are unaware of our Adopt A Family program, it was started a number of years ago as a Sunday School outreach event to help brighten Christmas for families within our congregation, who are in need. If you have any questions please contact Diane McFarlane, 920-988-1993 or Sue Trumpf, 920-723-9386.
